Wine Society September
Update:
Our 1st meeting of the season is just around the
corner on September 20 at TSC. Lots of
great things, great ideas, and great minds are joining us at the wine table to
decide how & what we want to explore & experience in the coming
months. Won’t you add your name to the
list, join us, and participate in our planning session? Give us a call at the State Club to let us
know you are coming and we’ll have some of your favorite wine waiting or bring
your favorite wine with you!
Your Grape Therapy:
My last post asked “what makes you open a bottle of wine”
and I received some very interesting responses…. ”work.. vacation…
kids….stress… and my favorite response…..”I don’t need a reason to open a
bottle of wine; it calls to me lest I forget”!
Thanks for all your responses……..so let me leave you a very
favorite recipe of mine that I received from a friend this summer….on 2nd
thought….come to our meeting and pick up a copy of the recipe at the
registration table. “Wolf Packer’s
Sparkling Peach-Basil Sangria” has been on my table this summer, what’s been on
your table?
My Wine pick of the month:
Vintner’s Almondage Champagne
Duplin Winery, Rose Hill, NC (available only at the Winery and, of
course, TSC!)

exclamation point on many special occasions. This Duplin sparkling wine has a
luscious taste of almonds and satisfies every indulgence.
Served over ice cream, paired with walnut cheesecake, or raised for a toast, Duplin Winery's Vintner's Almondage is sure to please even the most discerning champagne lovers.
